In our senior classroom, we don't just teach subjects; we inspire future leaders, thinkers, and creators. Led by the dynamic teaching duo of Mrs. van Mil and Ms Young, our Year 5–6 class is a vibrant space where academic excellence meets a supportive, community-focused culture.

A Balanced Powerhouse of Expertise
Our students benefit from a "best of both worlds" approach. By leveraging the unique strengths of two dedicated educators, we provide a rich, multi-disciplinary curriculum:

STEM & Sustainability: With Mrs. van Mil, students dive deep into the wonders of Science and Mathematics. Her passion for Environmental Education ensures our learners are not only tech-savvy but also kaitiaki (guardians) of our natural world.

Literacy & The Arts: Miss Young brings words and canvases to life. Through her expertise in Literacy and the Arts, students learn to communicate with confidence, think critically, and express their unique identities through creative mediums.

Our Classroom Philosophy
We believe that at the senior primary level, the "how" of learning is just as important as the "what." Our classroom is built onthree core pillars:

Independence: We empower our Year 5 and 6 students to take the driver's seat in their education, fostering the self-management skills they’ll need for intermediate and beyond.
Movement: We know that active bodies lead to active minds. We integrate movement throughout the day to keep energy high and focus sharp.
Culture of Connection: At the heart of our room is a foundation of friendship and tolerance. We work daily to ensure every student feelssafe, respected, and valued for who they are.
